Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mining, civil, construction, or mechanical engineering.
• 7+ years in aggregates processing or project management preferred.
• Willing to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Experience with capital construction projects in underground mining is desirable.
• AutoCAD proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Manage design, estimation and field construction for aggregate plant improvements and installations.
• Oversee region-wide capital projects and guide direct reports or peers.
• Develop scope, budgets, concepts and bid documents for engineering projects.
• Coordinate with Site, Area, District, Region, Division and Corporate managers on project status.

Martin Marietta is currently seeking a Regional Manager, Engineering based in Carmel, IN.andnbsp; This position provides overall project management support for, and lead complex capital projects related to aggregate operations in Martin Marietta’s Mid-America Region of the Central Division.andnbsp; The Mid-America Region includes approximately thirty active producing locations and ten truck/marine yards across the states of Indiana, Ohio, West Virgina, Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee.

This position will report to the Regional Vice President / General Manager of the Mid-America Region with a dotted line to the Director of Operation Services for the Central Division. andnbsp; This position also serves as direct-line management and technical resource for three direct reports positioned across the Region, with focus on capital and non-capital projects that support the Region.andnbsp;

Responsibilities

• Management of project design, estimation and field construction, various aggregate plant improvements, new plant installations, process improvement projects, and other construction management projects, which consists of truck and river yard distribution operations, surface quarries, underground mines, and sand andamp; gravel facilities
• Manage Region-wide capital projects and provide guidance to direct reports or peers
• Develop scope, budgets, initial concepts and bid documents related to Engineering projects. Effectively manage large and complex projects throughout entire life-cycle.
• Responsible for communication and coordination with Site, Area, District, Region, Division and Corporate managers on project status
• Respond appropriately and in a timely manner to issues as they arise
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with all existing and new general contractors and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal laws/regulations and company policy concerning safety, environmental, EEO/AAP, and others
• Work closely with Safety team to ensure that projects, vendors and suppliers adhere to Martin Marietta Safety standards and expectations
• Works closely with Procurement to ensure that we have the appropriate vendors and suppliers available for the project

• Knowledge of material handling systems, including the installation and start-up of conveyors, screens, crushers, pumps and pumping systems, material washing systems andamp; sand screws
• Knowledgeable in effectively utilizing effective plant automation.andnbsp; Basic understanding of medium-voltage electrical equipment, layout, and operations preferred.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and provide oversight for steel fabrication and erection
• Computer proficient in Microsoft Suite and ability to learn new MM internal programs and systems as needed
• Experience with AggFlow (Aggregate Plant Simulation program) and AutoCAD software for plant design required.andnbsp; Experience with MS Project or other Gantt-chart type of software preferred.
• Experience with successful execution of capital construction projects in underground mining environments is highly desirable.
• Experience managing design-build or EPC-style of large, complex capital construction projects is also highly desirable.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in mining, civil, construction, or mechanical engineering; or equivalent experience required; MBA and PE license a plus
• 7+ years of experience in the aggregates processing or project management preferred
• Must be willing to travel to accommodate job requirements up to 50% of the time
• Strong knowledge of AutoCad required.
• Experience with successful execution of capital construction projects in underground mining environments is highly desirable.
• Experience managing design-build or EPC-style of large, complex capital construction projects is also highly desirable.
• Valid US driver’s license
