Job summary

Montana State University is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead project managers and coordinators in campus projects. You will coordinate planning, design, and execution within scope, schedule, and budget, and directly manage selected projects.

You will mentor staff, manage workload, and drive risk-aware, compliant processes in a public policy environment while building lasting relationships with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, planning, or related field.
• Experience managing direct-report personnel in a team environment.
• Experience in construction project management, design processes, and contract management.
• Strong communication with internal/external stakeholders and reading drawings/building codes.

Responsibilities

• Manage project managers and coordinators and coach staff to maximize potential.
• Track workloads and manage all staff and projects in the work group.
• Engage with staff, peers and clients to foster a connection-based culture.
• Advise staff on best practices in design/construction project management.
• Guide projects balancing scope, schedule, and budget and manage risks.
• Build relationships with internal/external stakeholders to position MSU as a leader.
