Job summary

Utah State University is seeking a Project Coordinator to manage and coordinate construction and remodeling projects on campus, from bidding through final acceptance. You will ensure compliance with building codes, review plans, and liaise with contractors, architects, and campus staff to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities include overseeing progress, handling pay requests, coordinating pre-construction activities, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree plus two years of experience or a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Interior Design or closely related field or Minimum 4 years work experience in Project Management
• Bachelor's degree in a related field plus two years of experience; or a master’s degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education plus experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees construction progress ensuring procedures and materials comply with specifications
• Reviews contract plans and specifications for compliance with standards and requirements
• Conducts pre-construction conferences and reviews bidding documents
• Manages assigned construction projects and coordinates with building codes and project requirements
• Receives and approves pay requests and change orders from contractors
• Liaises between University and contractor/architect on construction projects
• Directs collection of information to ensure accuracy of as-built drawings
• Interacts with contractors and university personnel to satisfy parties in construction
• Maintains progress schedules and ensures contractor completion on time
• Assists in developing means and methods to improve construction program
• Maintains liaison between contractor, clients, and consultants during construction
• Coordinates and assists with final inspections and punch list
• Reviews projects at end of warranty period for non-compliances
• Monitors progress through on-site inspections and discussions
• Performs other related duties incidental to the work
