Job summary

EEI in Sterling, VA seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead complex commissioning and building performance initiatives. You will guide project teams from planning to closeout, manage risks and budgets, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients and stakeholders.

You will cultivate strong client relationships, engage in business development, and ensure high quality outcomes while mentoring staff in a collaborative, employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, building sciences, or related field.
• Experience with building systems commissioning or building performance consulting.
• Ability to manage complex projects involving planning, budgeting, scheduling, coordination, and client communication.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple concurrent projects in a client-focused environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability and willingness to travel as needed to support client meetings and project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex commissioning and building performance projects from planning through closeout.
• Build and maintain trusted client relationships with high responsiveness and satisfaction.
• Proactively manage risks, contracts, resources, budgets, and project profitability.
• Mentor, coach, and support technical staff while fostering collaboration.
• Support proposals, develop client opportunities, and identify additional service needs.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders for alignment.
• Ensure deliverables meet client expectations and EEI standards of quality and safety.
