Job summary

The role oversees complex projects from handoff to completion, coordinating between clients, general contractors, engineering, production, and field teams.

The ideal candidate reads architectural drawings, manages schedules and budgets, and mentors other PMs.

Qualifications

• Experience managing commercial millwork projects from kickoff to installation.
• Ability to review drawings, specs, shop drawings, and schedules.
• Coordinate engineering, fabrication, purchasing, logistics, and field teams.
• Identify risks, scope gaps, and schedule concerns early.

Position Overview

Ardent Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager for a growing commercial millwork and custom fabrication company. For the right candidate, this role could also be structured at the Director of Project Management level.

This position will manage complex custom projects from initial handoff through fabrication, installation, and completion. The ideal candidate has strong commercial millwork experience, understands architectural drawings and specifications, and can confidently coordinate between clients, general contractors, engineering, production, and field teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial millwork projects from kickoff through installation and completion.
• Review architectural drawings, specifications, shop drawings, schedules, and project requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering/CAD, fabrication, purchasing, logistics, installers, general contractors, and customers.
• Identify drawing discrepancies, scope gaps, scheduling concerns, and project risks early.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, change orders, documentation, and profitability.
• Take ownership of major last-minute changes while keeping firm installation or project deadlines on track.
• Communicate project status, risks, and changes clearly to clients and internal teams.
• Resolve issues involving materials, design changes, production, site conditions, and installation.
• Mentor and support less-experienced Project Managers.
• At the Director level, help establish PM processes, standards, workload management, and team development.

Qualifications

• Significant Project Management experience within commercial millwork, architectural woodworking, custom fabrication, exhibits, fixtures, or a closely related industry.
• Strong ability to read architectural drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Experience coordinating engineering, manufacturing, construction, and installation activities.
• Strong understanding of schedules, budgets, change management, and project documentation.
• Excellent communication, organization, and client-facing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
• Leadership or mentoring experience preferred for Director-level consideration.
