Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager in Phoenix, AZ to lead commercial HVAC and plumbing projects from planning through delivery. You will oversee schedules, budgets, procurement, billing, change orders, field coordination and client relationships while upholding safety and quality across multiple projects.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of PM experience in commercial mechanical construction, strong knowledge of HVAC and piping, and a proven ability to deliver complex facilities

Qualifications

  • 3+ years PM experience in commercial mechanical construction (HVAC/plumbing).
  • Projects range from $200K to $20M+.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, piping and related systems.
  • Familiarity with HVAC/ASHRAE and Plumbing/ASPE standards and codes.
  • Hands-on field experience preferred (Plumbing, Pipefitting, Sheet Metal).

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple commercial HVAC and plumbing projects.
  • Track submittals, RFIs, schedules of values, progress billings, and change orders.
  • Develop scopes of work and manage purchase orders for subs, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Coordinate project activities including scheduling, engineering support, material procurement, and field operations.
  • Ensure projects meet design, budget, schedule, quality and client expectations.
  • Monitor costs, forecasts, profitability and reporting.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly project projections and reporting.
  • Manage monthly billing processes and client approvals.
  • Identify and resolve project risks impacting schedule, budget, quality, or commitments.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, GC, subs, suppliers and field personnel.
  • Support business development by identifying opportunities with existing clients.

Mechanical Project Manager

Location: Phoenix, AZ
Compensation: $95,000 - $120,000+ (Depends on Experience)


About the Opportunity

A leading mechanical contracting organization is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager with a strong background in commercial HVAC and plumbing systems to oversee projects from planning through successful completion.


This role is responsible for the operational and financial performance of assigned projects, including scheduling, budgeting, procurement, billing, change management, field coordination, customer relationships, and project closeout. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and experience managing commercial mechanical construction projects while collaborating closely with field teams, customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities


  • Manage one or multiple commercial HVAC and plumbing projects simultaneously.

  • Track and manage submittals, RFIs, schedules of values, project schedules, progress billings, and change orders.

  • Develop scopes of work and manage purchase orders for subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.

  • Coordinate project activities including scheduling, engineering support, material procurement, and field operations.

  • Ensure projects are completed according to design requirements, budgets, schedules, quality standards, and client expectations.

  • Work closely with Superintendents and field leadership to ensure proper staffing and project execution.

  • Monitor project costs, forecasts, profitability, and overall financial performance.

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly project projections and reporting.

  • Manage monthly billing processes and customer approvals.

  • Identify and proactively resolve project risks impacting schedule, budget, quality, or customer commitments.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel.

  • Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities with existing clients and cultivating new relationships.

  • Maintain accurate and timely project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.


Required Qualifications


  • 3+ years of project management experience within the commercial mechanical construction industry, specifically HVAC and/or plumbing.

  • Proven experience managing mechanical construction projects ranging from approximately $200K to $20M+.

  • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC, plumbing, piping, and related mechanical systems.

  • Understanding of HVAC/ASHRAE standards, Plumbing/ASPE standards, and applicable building codes.

  • Prior hands‑on field experience as a Plumbing, Pipefitting, or Sheet Metal Apprentice, Journeyman, and/or Foreman is highly preferred.

  • Strong project planning, scheduling, budgeting, financial management, and organizational skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related business applications.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations simultaneously.
