Job description

The Opportunity

As a Senior Project Manager at Coursedog, you'll lead large-scale, complex, and highly customized implementations across our academic operations platform, partnering strategically with colleges and universities to ensure transformational adoption and lasting impact. You'll own the complete implementation experience — from in-depth discovery through project execution, training, go-live, and adoption — while working with minimal supervision and significant autonomy. This role reports to the Manager, Implementation Services, and collaborates across Product, Engineering, Data, and Support teams. This role will play a key part in mentoring peers and serve as a thought leader in implementation methodology and process improvement. This role is well-suited for someone with advanced project management expertise, strong strategic thinking, and a track record of leading complex initiatives while delivering exceptional customer outcomes.

This position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $90,000-$100,000, depending on experience and qualifications. The role also includes a performance-based variable compensation plan, bringing total on-target earnings (OTE) to $110,000-$130,000 when performance objectives are achieved.

What You'll Do
  • Lead large-scale, complex, and highly customized customer implementations across Coursedog's product suite, including early and immature deployments, with minimal supervision and significant autonomy
  • Own end-to-end project planning and execution, establishing project strategy, building comprehensive project plans, forecasting timelines and resource needs, and proactively identifying and mitigating risks and dependencies
  • Drive administrator and end-user training at scale, developing innovative training resources, leading tailored sessions for campus-specific use cases, and ensuring sustainable adoption across institutions
  • Mentor and coach project coordinators and project managers, fostering professional development, leading cross-functional discussions on process improvements, and building team capabilities
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Data teams to resolve complex technical integration issues, inform strategic product recommendations, and drive implementation-led improvements that scale across the customer base
  • Serve as a thought leader and subject matter expert for implementation methodology, designing and refining processes, establishing best practices, and continuously improving customer outcomes and satisfaction
  • Leverage AI capabilities in day-to-day project management activities and test unique client uses cases to drive efficiency and accuracy
  • Strengthen long-term client relationships by understanding strategic business needs, anticipating challenges, and positioning solutions that deliver sustained value and retention
What You'll Bring
  • 4-6+ years of experience leading software or SaaS system implementations, with demonstrated expertise in either higher education institutions or ed-tech companies, and a proven track record of managing complex, large-scale projects with minimal supervision
  • Advanced expertise in project management and implementation methodologies, with demonstrated ability to exercise strategic decision-making and autonomy in adjusting methods and approaches based on project context
  • Proven skill in identifying, communicating, and mitigating complex project risks, issues, and dependencies, with strong forecasting and resource management capabilities
  • Strategic and consultative approach to problem-solving with sound judgment, the ability to influence across organizational boundaries, and experience shaping product and operations strategy
  • Strong mentorship and team development experience with an eagerness to support developing project managers
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills across technical, product, business, and executive contexts, with the ability to communicate with strategic confidence
  • Advanced proficiency with project management tools and platforms such as Notion, Rocketlane, and Salesforce, along with comfort using data systems, integrations, and advanced forecasting tools
  • Familiarity with AI and automation in the context of project management, with the ability to test and consistently improve workflows

Working at Coursedog
Healthcare, Dental & Vision

We follow a fixed contribution model to promote equity and transparency. Every employee receives the same annual dollar amount to apply toward medical, dental, and vision coverage. This approach gives you the flexibility to choose the plan that best fits your needs, whether that is a base-level option or more comprehensive coverage.

Depending on the selected coverage level, the company covers:

  • Employee-only coverage: 65% to 99% of monthly premiums
  • Employee plus dependents: 45% to 75% of monthly premiums

We partner with Aetna and Guardian, and offer access to best-in-class wellness and support programs, including:

  • Spring Health (mental health support)
  • XP Health (vision benefits)
  • Carrot Fertility (family planning support)
  • One Medical (primary care)

We also support pre-tax savings through Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).

Retirement Planning

To support long-term financial health, we offer a Safe Harbor 401(k) plan from day one of employment. Coursedog provides a 4% employer match on your total compensation (subject to federal limits) each pay period for employees contributing to a tax-advantaged retirement account.

Paid Time Off

We trust our employees to manage their time responsibly. That’s why we offer an unlimited Paid Time Off policy — because flexibility and balance are critical for sustained excellence and personal well-being.

Remote-First Since Inception

We were built for distributed work. Our culture emphasizes flexibility over rigidity, outcomes over hours, and transparency over gatekeeping. We are committed to being a remote-first organization indefinitely, empowering you to work where and how you thrive best.

Equity

As a valued contributor to our collective success, you’ll participate in the upside. All employees are granted equity in the company aligned to your role and tenure. Equity grants are reviewed and adjusted with promotions to reflect your evolving impact.

Paid Parental Leave

We proudly support working parents with industry-leading benefits. Employees are eligible for up to 12 weeks of fully paid leave. This benefit is available to all eligible employees, regardless of gender or family structure.
