We are seeking a Senior Project Manager with extensive experience in underground wet utility construction to join one of our well-established General Contractor clients in Los Angeles County. This full-time, onsite opportunity is with a firm known for successfully self-performing complex utility, civil, and infrastructure projects in highly urbanized environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of underground utility projects, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget alignment
• Manage daily operations, subcontractors, vendors, field teams, and site logistics
• Coordinate directly with clients, inspectors, and agencies throughout the project lifecycle
• Oversee installations of water, sewer, and storm drain systems, including tie-ins to live utilities
• Support project estimating, preconstruction planning, and budgeting
• Develop and maintain CPM schedules, cost tracking, and project documentation
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Drive team performance while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
• Review plans, RFIs, submittals, and change orders to ensure accurate execution and cost control

Required Qualifications

• (Must have) 3–10+ years of proven experience in underground wet utilities construction (at the Project Manager or Estimator level)
• (Must have) Strong understanding of construction processes related to wet utilities and heavy civil work
• (Must have) Hands-on field and project management experience in pipeline, water, sewer, and storm drainage projects
• Experience with pump stations, mechanical piping, and treatment facilities
• Prior work for self-performing general contractors (not CM firms or public agencies)
• Strong knowledge of shoring systems, trench safety, paving, and concrete
• Proficient in project management tools and software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Primavera, Bluebeam)
• Excellent leadership, client communication, and team coordination skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, and deadlines
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred)
• Industry experience in any of the following is highly valued:
• Underground Utilities
• Structural Utility-Related Construction
