Job summary

Northern Kentucky University is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee and drive multiple IT projects from planning through completion. You will manage budgets, schedules, and governance while coordinating with sponsors and leadership.

Required are 6+ years of Senior IT Project Manager experience, strong methodologies knowledge, and excellent communication and organizational skills. The role entails both onsite work and collaboration with IT teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a Senior IT Project Manager with portfolio or verifiable references.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of 2–4 IT projects concurrently, including software implementations, integrations, ERP, and hardware upgrades.
• Onboard projects with sponsors and leadership, develop plans, and ensure alignment to practices and initiatives.
• Prepare and present status updates and meet governance, change management, and compliance requirements.

About the Role:

The duties for this position focus on oversight, planning,execution, and completion of technical projects ensuring propermanagement of budget and timelines.

Manage a selection of 2- 4 IT projects simultaneously, includingbut not limited to software implementations, integrations,Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and hardware/equipmentupgrades.

Work with project sponsors and Leadership to onboard projects,develop project plans, and ensure alignment to industry bestpractices or NKU institutional practices/initiatives.

Perform projection administration tasks of management of projectplan documentation, timeline, resource, and budget management,preparing and presenting status updates, and fulfilling governanceneeds like change management and compliance requirements.

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the successfulcompletion of technical projects, requiring:

• Proven, extensive (6+ years) work experience as a Senior ITProject Manager working technical projects, technical projectconsultant work, must be demonstrated through portfolio work orverifiable references.
• Strong knowledge of technical system and software project bestpractices and methodologies
• Confident with IT onsite and cloud infrastructure components andsoftware development processes
• Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail andmultitasking skills
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and projectmanagement tools
• BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineeringor a related technical field
• PMP certification a plus
