Job summary

Alexander Associates Technical Recruitment partners with an established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy expanding its water treatment team in Austin to lead complex water and wastewater projects from planning through construction.

You will mentor engineers, manage scope, schedule and budgets, coordinate with municipal clients and agencies, and support proposals while benefiting from a hybrid schedule and a salary up to $210,000 plus bonus and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering.
• Texas Professional Engineer licence or ability to obtain within six months.
• 10–15 years of water and wastewater treatment experience.
• Experience with municipal treatment plant planning, design and construction.
• Experience leading complex, multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong understanding of treatment process design.
• Experience managing project scope, schedules and budgets.
• Strong client management and presentation skills.
• Experience supporting proposals or business development.
• Experience managing projects with engineering fees above $1 million would be beneficial.

Salary: $160,000 to $210,000 plus bonus and benefits

We are working with an established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy that is expanding its water treatment team in Austin.

The business has a strong pipeline of municipal treatment work, experienced technical teams and a flexible working culture. This role offers the chance to lead major projects while staying involved in the technical and client side of delivery.

The role

You will lead complex water treatment, wastewater treatment, reuse and resource recovery projects from planning through construction.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading multidisciplinary treatment plant projects
• Managing scope, schedule, budget and project performance
• Overseeing process evaluations, studies and detailed design
• Preparing and reviewing reports, plans and specifications
• Leading teams across process, civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering
• Acting as the main contact for municipal clients
• Coordinating with local, state and federal agencies
• Supporting construction administration
• Mentoring engineers and designers across several offices
• Supporting proposals and developing relationships with existing and prospective clients

You may also work alongside technical specialists across MBR, EBPR, reverse osmosis, desalination and other advanced treatment processes.

What we are looking for

• Salary up to $210,000, based on experience
