Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Project Financial Controls Specialist who will apply cost control procedures and analysis to projects while supporting and training team members in the Project Financial Management (PFM) system.

Responsibilities include implementing cost control functions, communicating with project teams about PFM use, and producing cost control metrics for leadership. Strong analytical skills and teamwork are essential to manage budgets and forecasts across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Management, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in construction management.
• Minimum of three years’ experience with cost management and financial control practices.
• Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite or similar ERP system.
• Strong Excel skills; macros a plus.
• Excellent analytical, communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Implement and administer project financial cost control functions.
• Communicate with project teams on the development, application, use, and training of PFM.
• Maintain effective cost control practices consistent with Mortenson’s policies and procedures.
• Produce cost control performance metrics for group leadership.
• Provide project teams with knowledge to meet budget and forecast goals.
• Support project teams with updates and enhancements to the PFM system.
• Provide functional technical expertise for system releases.
