Job summary

Mesa Associates, Inc. is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to work within the Project Management business unit.

This role focuses on managing financial performance, budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and reporting for multiple engineering projects, collaborating with Project Managers and stakeholders to ensure accurate financials. Ideal candidates bring strong project accounting, financial analysis, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Min 6 years' on-site project controls experience.
• Experience using SAP, Excel, Word.
• PMI PBA and/or Primavera P6 certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking systems for assigned projects.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, variance analyses, and earned value metrics.
• Monitor project expenditures and identify cost overruns, risks, and opportunities.
• Support the preparation and review of client invoices and ensure timely billing.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure financial alignment with project scope and schedule.
• Assist in the development of change orders and budget revisions.
• Ensure compliance with Mesa's financial policies, procedures, and client requirements.
• Participate in project reviews and provide financial insights to support decisions.
• Maintain documentation for audits, internal reviews, and client reporting.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in project control processes and tools.
