Job summary
The Hagerman Group in Louisville, KY is seeking a seasoned Project Estimator to shape competitive bids for large-scale commercial construction before ground is broken. You will review plans, perform takeoffs, and collaborate with operations, PMs, field teams, safety, and business development to drive winning proposals.
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in estimating, strong knowledge of construction methods and contract documents, and proficiency with OnScreen, Destini, BuildingConnected, Excel,
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years estimating experience in large-scale commercial construction.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, project schedules, specifications, and contract documents.
- Proficiency with estimating software and digital takeoff tools; experience with OnScreen, Destini, and BuildingConnected preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for large-scale commercial construction projects.
- Review plans, specifications, schedules, and contract requirements to define project scope and pricing strategies.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analyses for all applicable trades and self-performed work.
- Solicit, evaluate, and compare subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure complete and competitive project pricing.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and coordination meetings to assess project requirements and logistics.
- Collaborate with operations, project management, field teams, safety, and business development to produce comprehensive estimates.
- Analyze project risks, constructability considerations, labor requirements, and market conditions to support informed bidding decisions.
