Job summary

The Hagerman Group in Fort Wayne is seeking a Senior Project Estimator to lead estimating for complex commercial construction projects, from concept through bid. You will partner with project teams, designers, trade partners, and owners to develop thoughtful, accurate, and competitive estimates.

This role rewards technical excellence plus human impact, mentoring junior estimators, contributing to process improvements, and helping build a better future for the Fort Wayne community.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of construction estimating experience, preferably in commercial construction.
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, materials, and sequencing.
• Proficiency with estimating and project management tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Lead the estimating process for assigned projects from conceptual estimates through final bidding.
• Develop complete scopes of work, quantity takeoffs, and detailed cost analyses.
• Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier pricing.
• Review drawings, specifications, schedules, and contract requirements to identify risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Field Operations, Safety, and Business Development teams.
• Participate in and help lead preconstruction meetings with owners, architects, and engineers.
• Mentor and support estimators with varying levels of experience.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and best practices.
