Job summary

Albany International Corp. in Rochester, NH, seeks a Manager Engineering Composites to lead a team of Project Engineers delivering aerospace composite programs from development through production.

You will align technical execution with program objectives, manage staffing and resources, drive quality, cost, and schedule targets, mentor engineers, and promote lean practices and cross-functional collaboration while engaging DoD and commercial programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related field.
• 10+ years in aerospace manufacturing or composite product development, with 3+ years in leadership.
• Strong background in composite manufacturing processes (layup, cure, assembly, MRB, NDI).
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams through full lifecycle programs.
• Proficiency with CATIA V5, GD&T, Windchill PDM, and SAP.
• Familiarity with DoD contracts, quality systems, and proposal generation.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, RCCA, and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills to engage stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of Project Engineers across programs.
• Oversee staffing strategy and performance management for the team.
• Ensure design definition, manufacturing support, MRB, RCCA, and customer communication meet targets.
• Act as liaison between engineering, operations, PM, and customers.
• Lead functional excellence, lean practices, and risk mitigation.
• Ensure adherence to engineering processes, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Report engineering performance metrics and program status to senior leadership.
• Support proposals through technical scoping, cost estimation, and planning.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for high‑impact issues.
• Foster culture of technical rigor and continuous improvement.
