Job summary

This role requires broad technical authority across complex, multidisciplinary engineering efforts and close collaboration with customers and senior management. Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• Twelve+ years experience with a bachelor’s, ten+ with a master’s, or seven+ with a PhD; equivalent experience allowed.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and interface with customers and management.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical leadership for complex, high-visibility project engineering activities across multiple subsystems or program areas.
• Define technical approaches and develop solutions to highly complex engineering problems.
• Establish technical direction, priorities, and execution plans for major engineering efforts.
• Lead or influence multiple interdisciplinary teams through design, integration, verification, validation, test, delivery, and sustainment.
• Serve as a senior technical authority and principal interface with customers and program leadership.
• Evaluate system-level impacts, risks, cost, schedule, and performance tradeoffs; recommend actions.
• Shape proposal strategies, baselines, resource estimates, staffing plans, and roadmaps.
• Review and approve significant technical products and designs; ensure quality.
