Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers in Orlando seeks a Senior Project Engineer to lead planning, analysis, design, and delivery of complex residential land development projects, guiding teams from concept through final deliverables.

You will collaborate with clients, agencies, and project managers, applying advanced engineering judgment, maintaining quality and schedules, and mentoring junior engineers in a multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required.
• Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience is required.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
• Ability to lead complex design tasks and guide project teams.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, practice, and standards.
• Proficiency with relevant engineering software and design tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to mentor staff and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Availability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Lead site design for residential development, including grading, drainage, and utility layouts.
• Lead and perform advanced engineering analysis, design, and documentation per codes and standards.
• Serve as a technical resource and mentor on complex projects.
• Evaluate site constraints and design alternatives to meet objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate permitting and regulatory approvals with agencies.
• Provide technical leadership from due diligence through construction support.
• Review calculations, reports, plans, specs, and cost estimates for quality and constructability.
• Coordinate with project managers to support scope, schedules, budgets, and QC processes.
• Mentor and train engineers and technicians; review work for quality.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants on engineering solutions.
• Apply sound engineering judgment to evaluate alternatives and resolve challenges.
• Support continuous improvement with new tools and best practices.
