Job summary

Entergy Corporation in the United States seeks a Project Engineer for the Power Development engineering team to advance new gas generation projects. You will collaborate with stakeholders to maintain design standards and ensure complete, constructible engineering outputs across project scope.

Experience in power generation, design, or operations is essential. Strong writing, communication, and leadership skills are required, with PE and PMP preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
• Strong interpersonal skills and leadership behaviors.
• Expert knowledge of engineering fundamentals within at least one discipline (civil, mechanical, electrical, controls, chemical, construction).
• Advanced knowledge of engineering science and technology as applied to power generation, including design of electrical power-generating facilities.
• Knowledge of construction QA/QC protocols and materials/methods/tools for power-generation facilities.
• Advanced critical-thinking and complex problem-solving abilities.
• Desired: PE license and PMP certification.

Responsibilities

• Promotes safe behavior and adheres to project safety rules.
• Maintains and develops engineering design basis documents for new generation projects.
• Supports technical evaluation of project proposals to meet standards and objectives.
• Participates in state regulatory commission activities and submittal development.
• Identifies engineered safety controls and hazard removal during design.
• Leads cross-functional teams during EPC contract development.
• Ensures engineering documentation supports audits and prudency reviews.
• Acts as Contract Manager for engineering contracts outside the EPC scope.
• Performs design reviews to comply with permits and codes; supports project goals.
• Coordinates with Project Managers to follow the Project Delivery System.
• Participates in contractor/vendor selection based on experience and capability.
• Supports value-engineering during development to ensure competitive outcomes.
• Supports change-management processes.
