Job summary

SteveRecruiter, LLC is hiring a Senior Project Engineer for a major multiyear I-95 widening project in the Savannah, GA area. You will lead the engineering side of a high-profile highway and bridge expansion, coordinating with the owner, DOT inspectors, and design engineers to manage submittals, costs, and schedules.

The role requires 5+ years in heavy civil highway/bridge projects, a Civil Engineering degree, and hands-on experience with submittals, RFIs, and cost reporting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project engineering experience on heavy civil highway, bridge or DOT projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Hands on with submittals, RFIs, quantities, cost reports and change orders.
• Working knowledge of Primavera P6 and MS Office.
• Bridge experience and state DOT exposure are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run submittals and RFIs for your scope from start to closeout.
• Build and maintain quantity takeoffs, project logs and pay applications.
• Track cost against budget and prepare monthly cost reports and forecasts.
• Build and update the project schedule in Primavera P6 with the field team.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and material deliveries.
• Work with the owner, DOT inspectors and design engineers on change orders and field issues.
• Read and interpret plans, specs, traffic control and environmental requirements.
• Mentor the project and field engineers on the team.
• Support the Project Manager and Superintendent in the field on bridge and roadway work.
