Job summary

Joseph Michaels International is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for a major I-95 widening program in the Savannah, GA area. You will lead the engineering side of highway and bridge work, coordinate with DOT inspectors, owners, and design engineers, and mentor field staff on site.

The role emphasizes submittals, RFIs, cost reporting, scheduling in Primavera P6, and collaboration with subcontractors to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery of multi-year heavy civil projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in heavy civil highway, bridge or DOT projects.
• Hands-on with submittals, RFIs, quantities and change orders.

Responsibilities

• Run submittals and RFIs for your scope from start to closeout.
• Build and maintain quantity takeoffs, project logs and pay applications.
• Track cost against budget and prepare monthly cost reports and forecasts.
• Build and update the project schedule in Primavera P6 with the field team.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and material deliveries.
• Work with the owner, DOT inspectors and design engineers on change orders and field issues.
• Read and interpret plans, specs, traffic control and environmental requirements.
• Mentor the project and field engineers on the team.
• Support the Project Manager and Superintendent, with real time in the field on bridge and roadway work.
