Horan Hiring Solutions, LLC is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for a client in the Starkville, MS area. This role manages a portfolio of capital and improvement projects from concept through commissioning and start‑up, coordinating with Operations, Environmental, Transportation, Safety, and a range of vendors.

The ideal candidate holds a B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years in project management, cost estimating, FEED, P&IDs/PFDs, equipment selection, and startup

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of engineering experience with project management focus.
• Experience managing capital projects cradle-to-grave: scope, schedule, budget, execution.
• Projects typically $1M–$15M; able to support larger projects.
• Hands-on with cost estimating, FEED, P&IDs, PFDs, equipment/vendor selection, procurement, construction oversight, start-up.
• Strong knowledge of mass/energy balances, hydraulic analysis, equipment sizing, process modeling, heat transfer.
• Provide plant support through troubleshooting, improvements, and pilot activities.
• Proven leadership coordinating Operations, Environmental, Transportation, Safety, contractors and vendors.
• Excellent written/verbal communication; provide clear project updates and cost reports.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; VBA knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage an individual portfolio of projects from concept through commissioning and start-up.
• Coordinate with Operations, Environmental, Transportation, Safety, contractors, vendors and stakeholders.
• Develop schedules, budgets, cost reports, and project updates.
• Provide plant support through process troubleshooting and pilot facility activities.
