Job summary

Alive & Kickin' Pizza Crust Co. in Green Bay, WI is seeking a Project Engineer to lead engineering, maintenance, and technical services across six facilities.

You will work with engineers, technicians, and production teams to drive reliability, safety, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, SQF/USDA-regulated environment. The role involves collaborating with production, safety, quality, and leadership to achieve uptime, waste reduction, and efficiency targets, while managing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• Prefer 5 years of experience in food manufacturing within SQF and USDA-regulated facilities.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design and process engineering in food production environments.
• Ability to design and implement automation systems.
• Ability to research and present solutions.
• Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with 2D AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor 3D design software.
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Manufacturing Engineering methodologies.
• Working knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Strong project management skills.
• Interest in learning new technologies and ability to learn quickly.
• Strong people skills across the organization to manage projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team across engineering, maintenance, and technical functions to design, procure and implement production technologies.
• Maintain 12 production lines across six facilities with a dedicated machine shop for design and modification.
• Collaborate with production and support departments to hit uptime, waste reduction, and efficiency targets.
• Drive continuous improvement and best practices across all sites.
• Manage annual maintenance and capital budgets exceeding $7 million.
• Ensure SQF, USDA and BISSC compliance.
• Design conveyors, material handling equipment, presses and other equipment to sanitary bakery standards.
• Oversee facilities projects like roofs, HVAC, expansions, refrigeration and electrical works.
• Implement automation projects from design to production support.
• Coordinate with controls engineering on servo drives, sensors, HMI, etc.
• Source and manage equipment suppliers.
• Handle budgets, purchase orders and invoices with accounting.
• Plan plant layout and process flow; manage machinery rigging and material handling.
• Repair and rebuild used equipment and controls systems.
• Travel up to 20%, including occasional full-weeks on projects.
