Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience in mining or heavy industrial facilities.
• Experience with project stage-gate/FEL processes and the engineering interfaces with project controls, procurement, construction and handover.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary technical work and provide clear direction to consultants and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering leadership for early-stage studies, sustaining capital projects, operational improvement initiatives, and strategic infrastructure studies.
• Advance early-stage concepts through the FEL process, defining scope and evaluating alternatives.
• Develop and implement standards, procedures, templates, plans and tools to support the stage-gate process.
• Prepare concise presentations, reports and recommendations for senior management and stage-gate reviews.
• Coordinate inputs across Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Environmental, Permitting, Procurement, Construction and other stakeholders.
• Support development of project scopes, schedules, cost estimates and risk assessments in collaboration with project controls.
• Evaluate technical alternatives and conduct value-engineering, constructability and lifecycle cost reviews.
• Identify risks and mitigation measures and communicate decisions promptly.
