Job summary

HC Company, Inc. seeks an experienced Project Engineer to join our commercial construction team. This is not an entry-level PE position; you will own project controls and drive projects from preconstruction through closeout.

You'll work with PMs and Superintendents on healthcare, veterinary, education, industrial, and retail projects. Our ESOP structure ensures employees have a stake in the success of the company and its work.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Project Engineer or comparable commercial construction experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of RFIs, submittals, drawings, specs, procurement, change management, and closeout.
• Ability to read construction drawings and identify coordination/constructability issues.
• Experience with Procore and Bluebeam preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage RFIs, submittals, procurement tracking, project documentation, and closeout activities.
• Review drawings, specs, and submittals to identify scope gaps and constructability concerns.
• Coordinate with PMs, superintendents, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and owners to resolve issues.
• Support subcontractor buyout, contracting, change management, cost tracking, and material procurement.
• Track long-lead materials and critical activities to support schedule commitments.
• Participate in project and coordination meetings and support field operations.
