Job summary

Story Construction, a 100% employee-owned general contractor, is seeking a Project Engineer to support planning, execution and successful completion of construction projects. This role reports to the Project Manager and coordinates with the on-site Superintendent.

Responsibilities include assisting with estimates, subcontracts, schedule values, pay apps, submittals, and field information to drive decisions while maintaining quality and contract compliance.

Qualifications

• 4-year technical degree in construction-related field or 2-year degree with 2 years experience.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training acceptable.
• 4-year degree in Construction Management or Construction Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in pursuits and preconstruction activities such as presentations, estimating, bidding, and buying the job.
• Develops an understanding of contract documents and estimates.
• Communicates with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers on project status updates.
• Assists with setting up schedule of values, pay applications, and invoice approvals.
• Manages submittal process and ensures alignment with production schedule and O&M submittals.
• Updates subcontracts, purchase orders, and project budget with changes.
• Assists with creating, monitoring, and updating punch lists and project closeout.
