Roux Consulting in Burlington, MA is seeking a Project Engineer– Environmental Compliance Specialist to support environmental compliance projects across New England, from initiation through completion. This role blends fieldwork—stormwater inspections and sampling—with office duties to ensure SWPPP and SPCC plans meet regulatory requirements.

You will mentor junior staff, manage scope and budgeting for compliance programs, coordinate with internal teams, clients and regulators, and prepare

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or related field.
• 6+ years in environmental consulting with focus on compliance or permitting.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations in New England.
• Experience coordinating across sites with staff, vendors, clients, regulators.
• Demonstrated task and project management skills.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Ability to mentor junior staff.
• OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER preferred.
• Experience with EPA CDX / NetDMR and NetMSGP preferred.
• Ability to conduct inspections, sampling and reporting under MSGP/NPDES.

Responsibilities

• Support environmental compliance projects across New England from initiation to completion.
• Coordinate stormwater sampling and inspections.
• Develop and implement SWPPP and SPCC plans.
• Perform audits and support permitting obligations.
• Balance fieldwork with office duties and regulatory reporting.
