Job summary

SelectTech Services Corporation seeks a Project Engineer to act as the technical authority and engineering execution lead for DoD programs. You will guide end-to-end multi-discipline engineering, ensuring rapid, reliable deployments while maintaining mission intent.

Reporting to Engineering leadership, you will mentor engineers, drive MBSE and Agile practices, coordinate with government customers and subcontractors, and balance scope, schedule, and cost to deliver mission-ready systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; master's preferred but not required.
• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience with 1-3+ years supervisory experience in DoD or federal programs.
• Proven track record as Project Engineer, Technical Lead, Lead Engineer or Chief Engineer.
• Experience with classified programs and secure environments.
• Experience on Aerospace and Defense programs.
• Strong knowledge of DoD acquisition processes, systems engineering and technical reviews.
• Excellent oral and written communication across all levels.
• Willingness to qualify for Top-Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Technical Lead for programs, overseeing end-to-end engineering from requirements to deployment.
• Translate mission needs into executable technical solutions.
• Interface with government customers, subcontractors, and internal leadership.
• Lead system architecture, design reviews, and technical decision-making.
• Ensure designs are scalable, secure, and DoD-aligned.
• Balance scope, schedule, cost, and technical performance with Program Managers.
• Develop and manage technical baselines, schedules, and risk plans.
• Identify and resolve technical issues to enable rapid deployment.
• Support proposal development and technical volumes as needed.
• Champion rapid prototyping and early integration/testing.
• Remove barriers between engineering, operations, and stakeholders.
• Ensure systems are reliable, secure, and mission-ready in contested environments.
• Lead verification, validation, and acceptance activities.
• Maintain configuration control and technical rigor for sustainment.
• Mentor engineers and establish technical standards.
• Design mission-focused, user-centered, and operationally relevant solutions.
• Ensure decisions traceable to warfighter needs and mission outcomes.
• Balance innovation with practicality, emphasizing usability and lifecycle cost.
• Lead and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Communicate complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• Drive streamlined engineering processes and modern development practices (Agile, DevSecOps, MBSE).

Education
