Job summary

SelectTech Services Corporation is seeking a forward-thinking Project Engineer to serve as the technical authority and engineering execution lead for programs based in Colorado. You will bridge engineering excellence with program execution to deliver solutions rapidly, reliably, and with mission intent.

You will mentor engineers, lead multi-discipline teams, manage baselines and risk, and ensure designs meet DoD standards. Travel 10-15% between Colorado and Ohio facilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Master’s preferred.
  • 10+ years progressive engineering experience with 1-3+ years supervisory in DoD or federal programs.
  • Proven experience as Project Engineer, Technical Lead, Lead Engineer, or Chief Engineer.
  • Experience with classified programs and secure environments.
  • Prior experience on Aerospace and Defense programs.
  • Strong understanding of DoD acquisition processes, systems engineering, and technical reviews.
  • Excellent oral and written communication across all levels.
  • Knowledge of MIL-STD, ISO 9001, AS9001 standards for system development and integration.
  • Experience interfacing with government engineering authorities.
  • Must be able to qualify and maintain a Top-Secret Security Clearance.

Job description

We are seeking a forward-thinking Project Engineer to serve as the technical authority and engineering execution lead for programs at SelectTech Services Corporation. This role bridges engineering excellence and program execution, ensuring solutions are delivered rapidly, reliably, and with mission intent. Travel: 10-15% travel will be required between our Colorado and Ohio facilities.

What You’ll Do
  • Serve as the Technical Lead for assigned programs, responsible for end-to-end multi-discipline engineering oversight from requirements through deployment and sustainment.
  • Translate mission needs and operational requirements into clear, executable technical solutions.
  • Act as the primary technical interface with government customers, subcontractors, and internal leadership.
  • Lead system architecture, design reviews, trade studies, and technical decision-making.
  • Ensure designs are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with DoD standards and best practices.
  • Partner with Program Managers to balance scope, schedule, cost, and technical performance.
  • Develop and manage technical baselines, schedules, and risk mitigation plans.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues early to deploy faster without sacrificing quality.
  • Support proposal development, technical volumes, and basis of estimates as needed.
  • Champion rapid prototyping, iterative development, and early integration/testing.
  • Reduce technical friction by removing barriers between engineering, operations, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure systems are reliable, secure, compliant, and operationally effective in contested or mission-critical environments.
  • Lead verification, validation, and acceptance activities to ensure mission readiness.
  • Maintain configuration control and technical rigor to support long-term sustainment.
  • Mentor engineers and establish technical standards that promote consistency and trust.
  • Design solutions that are mission-focused, user-centered, and operationally relevant.
  • Ensure engineering decisions are traceable to warfighter needs and mission outcomes.
  • Balance innovation with practicality, emphasizing usability, maintainability, and lifecycle cost.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Drive streamlined engineering processes and modern development practices (e.g., Agile, DevSecOps, Model-Based Systems Engineering).
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Software, or related discipline). Master’s degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred, but not required.
  • 10+ years of progressive engineering experience with 1-3+ years of supervisory experience supporting DoD or federal programs.
  • Proven experience serving as a Project Engineer, Technical Lead, Lead Engineer, or Chief Engineer.
  • Experience working with classified programs and secure environments.
  • Prior experience working on Aerospace and Defense programs.
  • Strong understanding of DoD acquisition processes, systems engineering, and technical reviews.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g. MIL-STD, ISO 9001, AS9001) and best practices for system development and integration.
  • Prior experience interfacing directly with government engineering authorities.
  • Must be able to qualify and maintain a Top-Secret Security Clearance.
