Job summary

RON SUNSHINE ASSOCIATES LLC is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer to drive the end-to-end design of custom automated production equipment. You will lead design teams, coordinate with clients and suppliers, and ensure timely delivery by breaking work into manageable tasks and milestones.

You should have a BSME or similar and 5+ years of project design experience, with SolidWorks proficiency and knowledge of welding, fixtures, GD&T. Experience with robotics or vision systems is a plus.

Qualifications

• BSME or similar degree with strong mechanical design skills.
• 5+ years of project design experience for fully customized automated production equipment.
• Experience with SolidWorks is required.
• Experience welding, fixture design and GD&T is preferred.
• Desirable: robotics, vision systems, computer controls, data acquisition.
• Direct experience working with customers and suppliers is desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to manage a team and projects to schedule.
• Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the overall design of a custom automated machine contracted for a client.
• Lead a team of design engineers and external contractors on larger projects.
• Break down design effort into tasks, manage timelines and milestones, and communicate status to team and customers.
• Incorporate robotics, vision systems, welding, fixtures, controls, material handling and other processes into designs.
