Job summary

New York Power Authority seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead highly complex projects from initiation through closeout. You will organize project teams, assign responsibilities, develop schedules, and manage budgets and staffing for critical utility infrastructure.

The role requires an engineering background (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical), 6+ years in project/construction management, and familiarity with codes, permits, safety, and vendor coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, electrical, or energy engineering.
• Minimum 6 years’ experience in project/construction management, with 3+ in related field.
• Experience in utility, commercial, or related mechanical/electrical industries.

Responsibilities

• Manage all stages of project lifecycle from initiation to close out for highly complex projects.
• Oversee internal and external resources and coordinate activities.
• Ensure licensing, permitting, safety, code compliance, and design inputs are incorporated.
• Develop and manage design documents, budgets, forecasts, bids, and procurement.
• Coordinate contract changes, invoices, and construction sequencing.
• Review project docs, schedules, risks, and variances.
• Occasional emergency response outside normal hours.
• Mentor junior engineers.
• Supervise maintenance staff and contractors; schedule work and ensure safety.
