New York Power Authority invites applications for a Project Engineer/Manager level role to support canal system capital improvement projects. The position emphasizes civil/environmental engineering, project management, and coordination of internal and external resources across multi-disciplinary teams.

You will oversee project lifecycles from initiation through closeout, manage budgets and schedules, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and collaborate with contractors and stakeholders to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, mechanical, electrical engineering or energy engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in project/construction management.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred or ability to obtain within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Project management for all stages of the project lifecycle from initiation through closeout; own small to medium projects under supervision.
• Coordinate with in-house and external resources for all project activities.
• Ensure licensing, environmental, permitting, safety, code compliance, and stakeholder input are incorporated during initiation through design.
• Develop and manage design documents, budgets, forecasts, bid documents, and contract changes with guidance.
• Coordinate construction sequencing, site outages, and field/design changes; quality testing/inspections.
• Review and contribute to project documentation including drawings, specifications, reports, budgets, schedules, and risk registers.
• Perform occasional emergency response outside of normal hours.
