Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with five years' experience in shipyard design or multi-system projects.
  • Alternatively, HS diploma/GED with 10 years of equivalent engineering experience.
  • Knowledge reading NAVSEA or shipbuilding drawings and MIL-STDs or similar specs.
  • Experience with submarine construction and SUBSAFE preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership of assigned projects within programmatic guidelines.
  • Review customer statements of work, drawings, and MIL-STD requirements with teams.
  • Define and review project technical requirements and documentation with stakeholders.
  • Assess feasibility and identify resources to meet deliverables.
  • Monitor work scope and ensure reviews and approvals are completed.
  • Oversee technical work of personnel and coordinate with managers.
  • Support engineering process improvements and issue resolution.
