Austal USA is seeking an experienced engineer to supervise Engineers I & II, Designers, and Draftspersons in Mobile, Alabama. The successful candidate will perform complex design calculations and manage design projects for marine vessels, ensuring compliance with regulations and specifications.
This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering and 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in shipbuilding. The position offers a dynamic work environment with exposure to various conditions in vessel construction.
Austal USA is a leading ship manufacturer. The role reports to the Marine Engineering Manager and supervises Engineers I & II, Designers, and Draftspersons.
All candidates must meet Austal USA’s basic employment eligibility guidelines and be able to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance if required.
Computer – MS Office, AutoCAD, NAVIS.
The position may involve exposure to humid conditions, bright flashing lights, moving mechanical parts, and high or low temperatures. Noise levels can reach +90dB. Employees must comply with company, federal, state, and local safety and environmental rules.
