In the role of Senior Project Designer, you'll be responsible for:
  • Leading creative concepts and solutions for complex architectural projects in consultation with the Design Principal.
  • Meeting directly with clients to analyze project goals and developing architectural concepts to meet those goals.
  • Creating designs and documentation, including presentation drawings, models, and narratives.
  • Providing senior design leadership across all disciplines related to building design.
  • Representing our firm in business development efforts with prospective clients.
  • Collaborating with various disciplines throughout all project phases to ensure solutions meet project needs and owner requirements.
  • Developing design solutions that align with client goals and HDR’s internal metrics.
  • Leading and mentoring other designers and staff members.
  • Contributing to and maintaining the studio’s design culture.
  • Performing additional duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Architecture.
  • Registered Architect.
  • At least 10 years of leadership experience in design.
  • Experience with healthcare, educational, civic, science, and research facilities.
  • Interest or experience in sustainable design and LEED certification.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Rhino, Grasshopper, SketchUp, 3D Studio Max, and related modeling and graphics software.
  • Local candidates are preferred.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and workflows.
  • Effective graphic presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of building codes and planning.
