Project Engineer/Engineering Designer, Land Development -Denver

Position Overview

DEA’s Civil Engineering group is hiring a Project Engineer/Engineering Designer to support our Land Development Business Unit. Under supervision of assigned Project Engineer(s), this individual will support various residential and commercial land development projects. As part of a design team, will contribute to stormwater management, utility, and roadway designs, including construction documents and supporting documentation. This position can work remotely with all our offices, preferably in the Puget Sound Area.

Position Duties
  1. Apply civil engineering principles to projects, either as a team leader or independently.
  2. Create design plans and lead specifications for site layouts, grading, drainage, paving, utilities, and related activities.
  3. Lead water quality reports and drainage studies, including hydraulic and hydrologic calculations.
  4. Perform calculations, specifications, proposal preparation, and permitting applications.
  5. Manage project schedules, cost estimates, and client coordination.
  6. Execute complex assignments, utilizing judgment to evaluate and modify engineering techniques.
  7. Develop new approaches to encountered problems.
  8. Interface with clients and public agencies.
  9. Mentor junior staff and supervise project staff as needed.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • At least 4 years of relevant land development design experience
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or Civil 3D and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineering License
  • 8+ years of land development design experience
  • LEED AP Certification
