Responsibilities of the Senior Project Designer include:
  • Leading the development of creative concepts for complex architectural projects in collaboration with the Design Principal.
  • Meeting with clients to analyze project goals and develop architectural solutions.
  • Creating designs and documentation, including presentation drawings, models, and narratives.
  • Providing senior leadership across all disciplines involved in building design.
  • Participating in business development and marketing efforts.
  • Collaborating across disciplines to ensure designs meet project needs and owner requirements.
  • Developing design solutions that align with client goals and HDR's performance metrics.
  • Mentoring and directing other designers and staff members.
  • Contributing to the studio's design culture.
  • Performing additional duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Architecture.
  • Registered Architect.
  • At least 10 years of leadership experience in design.
  • Experience with healthcare, educational, civic, science, and research facilities.
  • Interest or experience in sustainable design and LEED certification.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Rhino, Grasshopper, SketchUp, 3D Studio Max, and other modeling tools.
  • Preference for local candidates.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and related tools.
  • Strong graphic presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of building codes and planning.
