Job summary

Southland Industries seeks a seasoned Project Executive to lead a portfolio of complex projects and coach delivery teams. You will partner with account and solutions executives in preconstruction, manage negotiations, staffing, budgets, and schedules, and maintain strong client relationships.

You will travel up to 50% and communicate status to clients and leadership, driving strategic construction delivery and risk mitigation across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in related field, or applicable experience.
• 12+ years’ experience, including 5+ years’ people management experience.
• Proven ability to manage multiple larger and more complex project teams.
• Effective leadership skills including ability to motivate, delegate, and build trust.
• In-depth knowledge of building systems such as HVAC, lighting, controls, generation, and water systems.
• Very strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels of employees, clients and general contractors.
• Expert negotiation and collaboration skills.
• Strong knowledge of building construction processes and methods and building codes and permitting.
• Deep knowledge of risk management principles and demonstrated track record of developing, implementing and managing risk mitigation strategies.
• Knowledgeable in contract labor compliance and its impact on project structure, sub selection , budgets and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and manages a portfolio of projects for project delivery teams.
• Coaches and provides performance feedback to less experienced staff.
• Reviews contracts with clients and subcontractors and manages negotiations.
• Oversees staffing plans and performance appraisals for delivery teams.
• Acts as primary point of contact for project teams and provides status updates.
• Maintains client relationships and identifies new opportunities.
• Collaborates on delivery strategies with internal and external resources.
• Manages financial portfolio including budgets, costs, revenue projections, and change orders.
• Participates in client meetings and internal department reviews.
• Travel up to 50%.
