Job summary

Southland Industries in Austin, Texas seeks an seasoned Project Executive to set up and manage a portfolio of projects. You will lead project delivery teams, coach staff, and ensure profitable, high-quality delivery aligned with client goals. Heavy emphasis on risk, contracts, and financial performance.

You will collaborate with executives, negotiate with clients and subs, and drive strategic delivery across multiple projects while maintaining client relationships and pursuing new opportunities.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in related field, or applicable experience.
• 12+ years’ experience, including 5+ years’ people management experience.
• Proven ability to manage multiple larger and more complex project teams.
• Effective leadership skills including ability to motivate, delegate, and build trust.
• In-depth knowledge of building systems such as HVAC, lighting, controls, generation, and water systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with Account Executives and Solutions Executives during preconstruction to review project constructability and risk, develop construction pricing, and to prepare labor/staffing as well as construction schedules.
• Reviews and manages contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors.
• Oversees project construction teams /multiple project teams.
• Labor management for project delivery teams including staffing plans/hiring and performance appraisals.
• Functions as primary point of contact for project team(s).
• Provides project status updates to clients and leadership.
• Maintains positive client relationships and works with client and Account Executives to identify new opportunities.
• Works with internal and external resources to develop and implement construction delivery strategies.
• Financial portfolio management of project budget reports, cost and revenue projections, change orders, etc.
• Participates in project meetings with clients and internal departments.
