Job summary

American Electric Power in Tulsa, OK seeks a Project Cost Analyst to coordinate cost analysis, budgets, forecasts, and KPI tracking for multiple projects. The role supports PMs and staff with SOX compliance and continuous process improvements.

You will develop tools and training, interface with contractors, and ensure accurate project cost depiction across the lifecycle, under minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with four (4) years’ experience as a Project Cost Analyst Associate (grade 005).
• With an Associate’s degree, three (3) years of qualified experience.
• With a Bachelor’s degree, one (1) year of qualified experience.
• Degrees must be in Accounting, Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Technology, or Project Management from an accredited institution.
• Exposure to corporate accounting and project cost management systems, scheduling systems, earned value management is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project meetings and work with project team members on project activities.
• Support the PM in the preparation and updating of project documentation and planning.
• Prepare forecasts of project spending and cash flows, budget variance monitoring, cost tracking/analysis.
• Provide input to SOX activities and assist with annual budget, capital forecasts, five-year plan and improvement requisitions; perform estimate vs. actuals analysis.
• Collaborate with PM and other stakeholders to perform variance reporting and establish baseline budgets aligned with the project schedule.
• Create project breakdown structures.
