Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Project Controls Specialist to support US-based projects. You will develop schedule and cost baselines, collect monthly data, identify variances, and assist with root-cause analysis.

The role ensures adherence to financial controls, forecasts, and risk management across projects of moderate to high complexity. Ideal candidates have strong experience with Earned Value Management, cost modeling, and scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 and EcoSys.

Qualifications

• Must have US citizenship due to federal contract requirements and/or eligibility for a federal security clearance.
• Deep knowledge of project management methodologies including budget development, planning, control and finance concepts.
• Ability to interpret documents, drawings, and specifications to plan schedules, resources and cost baselines.
• Experience using Primavera P6 and EcoSys for project scheduling, performance reporting and cost forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Develops time-phased project cost and resource forecasts; validates costs and updates requirements.
• Performs earned value management and prepares client/status reports.
• Monitors project progress, schedule dates, and resource utilization; analyzes variances.
• Provides guidance and training to junior staff and mentors within the discipline.
• Communicates with project managers and stakeholders on cost/schedule impacts.
• Supports financial controls, procedures, systems, and forecasting techniques.
