Job summary

K&A Power Group, a leading engineering firm, seeks a highly motivated Project Controls Specialist III to join its Hartford, CT team. You will oversee project cost control, scheduling, and PMIS implementation, ensuring alignment with budgets, baselines, and milestones.

Your role will involve cross-functional collaboration with PM, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction teams. You will develop and maintain schedules, analyze variances, and support cost forecasting while fostering a culture of

Qualifications

• 10+ years in electric utility or related industry with transmission facilities construction management experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent; 15 years of relevant experience recommended.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage project schedules from initiation through closeout supporting Transmission Organization projects.
• Provide resource-loaded schedules reflecting logic and durations to inform resource allocation and constraints.
• Develop, maintain, and analyze project activities and resources to meet department requirements.
• Implement and manage Baseline Management for cost and schedule to track variances against budgets and scopes.
• Ensure baselines in cost, schedule and scope are monitored against actual performance.
• Communicate project status and resource loading with team members and management.
• Coordinate internal/external resource reallocations to accommodate changes and conflicts.
• Provide training in Project Cost Control / Baseline Management methodologies.
