Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Staff Project Controls Specialist to lead the project controls processes with the internal management team to ensure projects stay within budget and schedule.

You will set up projects in the Enterprise Planning & Controls software, generate reports, create WBS, and develop cash flows and forecasts across multiple projects. Strong communication and collaboration with PMs and accounting are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree + 3 years of direct project controls experience required.
• Or, applicable experience may be substituted for the degree.
• Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• OSHA 10-hour safety certification or the ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Lead project controls processes with the PM team to meet budget and schedule.
• Ensure project set-up in the Enterprise Planning & Controls software.
• Analyze data, review logs, and run reports in the software.
• Create WBS and develop scheduling, cost, cash flow, and forecasts.
• Follow project execution plans and control project execution.
• Manage engineering, procurement, construction planning, scheduling, logistics and cost control.
• Act as a point of contact for technical questions from the project team.
• Approve Purchase Orders and/or Subcontracts for proper coding.
• Input and document changes to cost reports or forecasts.
• Interface with PM Team and Accounting for costs and audits.
• Review change orders upstream and downstream.
• Develop and present a cash flow report.
• Develop various levels of schedules and logic ties.
• Monitor resource loading of a schedule.
• Support IPPM and reporting formats.
• Develop and maintain earned value management system.
• Input and validate progress measurement.
• Develop and maintain progress curves.
• Perform material takeoffs and quality checks on deliverables.
• Perform field audits to validate reporting accuracy.
• Assist with Project Forensic Analysis.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
