Job summary

GFT is seeking a Senior Project Controls Lead for a major transit and rail project in New York. This senior, client-facing leadership role integrates cost, schedule, change, risk, and construction progress to provide an independent view of project performance.

The successful candidate will lead a matrixed team, engage with owners and contractors, and deliver concise, executive-ready assessments and recommendations. 15+ years in project controls on large infrastructure is required.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of project controls and/or cost controls experience on major infrastructure projects.
• Experience on projects exceeding $120 million with rail or transit exposure preferred.
• Strong ability to translate complex cost/schedule data into concise client-facing assessments.

Responsibilities

• Lead GFT’s integrated project controls interface with client, Owner’s Rep, and contractor.
• Evaluate contractor performance, quantities, forecast impacts, and cost exposure.
• Integrate cost, schedule, risk, change, and construction progress into owner-side assessments.
• Coordinate with schedulers, risk, change management, and commercial leads in a matrixed team.
• Review changes for cost, schedule, resource, sequencing, and control impacts.
• Engage directly with contractor to understand work plans and recovery strategies.
• Prepare project-controls briefings and recommendations for client and executives.
• Support a disciplined, schedule-driven management approach for accountability.
