Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Richmond, VA is seeking a Senior Project Controls Specialist to lead project controls, consult with the project management team, and present schedule and budget status to management and clients.

You will validate WBS, develop scheduling reports, cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and manage a reporting data warehouse for multiple projects, while guiding the team to resolve complex issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• 7 years of direct project controls experience.
• Experience with critical path scheduling and cost management required.
• Oracle Primavera P6 experience preferred.
• Ability to facilitate and produce detailed construction schedules.
• Strong presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• OSHA 10-hour safety certification (ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Lead project controls processes and consult with the project management team to ensure client satisfaction.
• Validate proper Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is utilized and manage scheduling, cost reports, and forecasts.
• Develop and manage the reporting data warehouse to produce valuable program controls reports for multiple large projects.
• Provide leadership and training to team members ensuring resolution of difficult project control issues.
• Develop and implement project execution plans.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, customers, and contractors.
• Responsible for engineering, procurement, and construction planning, scheduling, logistics and cost control.
• Serve as a point of contact for technical questions from the project team.
• Validate the accuracy of cost management and forecast reporting.
