Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Project Controls Specialist to support services projects across the United States. You will develop and maintain schedule and cost baselines, collect monthly data, analyze variances and support forecasts using Earned Value Management.

You will work with project teams and management, ensure compliance with federal procedures, prepare status reports, and provide guidance on risk and budget control. Up to 40% travel may be required.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required for federal contracts and/or security clearance.
• In-depth knowledge of project management methodology including budget development, planning, control and finance concepts.
• Demonstrates understanding of project goals, drivers, risks and opportunities with project finance or business administration.
• Ability to independently plan and manage construction projects using drawings and specifications.
• Expert knowledge of Primavera P6 and enterprise portfolio management tools.
• Proficient in using project performance tools like EcoSys.
• Strong teamwork, communication skills, and adaptability in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Develops and documents time-phased schedules for major projects.
• Evaluates and raises early warning signals to project management.
• Generates earned value reports and discusses findings with portfolio managers.
• Performs financial analyses including variance, risk and profit/loss.
• Provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
• Ensures compliance with internal procedures and safety requirements.
