Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Project Controls Specialist to support services projects across the U.S. You will develop and monitor schedule and cost baselines, analyze variances, and support financial forecasting and controls.

Collaboration with project teams and management is essential, with travel across locations in the United States. The role requires expertise in project management, earned value, and cost/schedule forecasting, plus strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required for this position due to federal contract requirements and/or eligibility for a U.S. government security clearance.
• In-depth knowledge of project management methodology including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, and finance and accounting concepts and practices.
• Demonstrates excellent knowledge of project goals, drivers, strategies, risks and opportunities as well as an understanding of project finance, accounting or business administration.
• Demonstrates the ability to independently plan and manage the detailed execution of a construction project by thoroughly interpreting and utilizing contract documents, drawings, and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Develops and documents project planning considerations and objectives, scope and milestones to incorporate into the schedule.
• Develops, maintains, and analyzes integrated critical path schedules for major projects and/or portfolio of projects.
• Evaluates and raises project early warning signals to project manager and recommends resource realignments.
• Generates and analyzes earned value reports and discusses observations with the project manager.
• Provides technical guidance and training to junior staff and may supervise junior engineers on project work.
