Job summary

CDM Smith is excited to offer a Senior Project Controls Specialist role supporting services projects across the U.S. This position focuses on developing schedule and cost baselines, collecting monthly data, identifying variances, and maintaining risk reserves within forecasts.

You will work with project teams to implement financial controls and prepare standard reports for stakeholders. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree, 5 years of related experience, and strong skills in Earned Value

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5+ years of project controls experience.
• Experience with Earned Value Management and cost/schedule forecasting.
• Proficient in Primavera P6 and project performance tools.
• Willingness to travel 20–40% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Develop time-phased project cost and resource forecasts; validate costs.
• Monitor progress and update schedules, resources, and accruals.
• Perform earned value reporting and portfolio analyses.
• Provide guidance to junior staff and supervise engineers.
• Ensure compliance with federal/government procedures and internal controls.
• Communicate cost status and trends to stakeholders.
