Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Project Controls Specialist to support services projects across the U.S. You will develop and maintain schedule and cost baselines, manage risk reserves, and provide cost forecasting and earned value reporting for complex projects.

You will collaborate with project teams and management, ensure compliance with federal procedures, and mentor junior staff while supporting multi-location programs. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of project management methodology including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, and finance and accounting concepts and practices.
• Demonstrates knowledge of project goals, drivers, strategies, risks and opportunities and understanding of project finance, accounting or business administration.
• Ability to independently plan and manage the detailed execution of a construction project by thoroughly interpreting and utilizing contact documents, architectural and engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
• Expert level knowledge of Primavera P6.
• Proficiency in EcoSys for project performance tracking and reporting.
• Demonstrates excellent teamwork and communication skills in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Develops time-phased project cost and resource forecasts; validates project costs; updates requirements as needed.
• Monitors progress and analyzes cost/schedule variance; prepares routine and non-routine financial reports.
• Generates earned value reports for portfolio projects and discusses observations with project managers.
• Provides technical guidance and training to junior staff and may supervise engineers on project work.
