Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Project Controls Specialist to support construction projects across the U.S. The role develops cost baselines, collects schedule data, analyzes variances and implements forecasting methods for project controls and risk management.

The candidate will work with project teams, ensure compliance with procedures, and prepare standard and ad hoc financial reports for stakeholders while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with multiple levels of management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and 5 years of related experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree.

Responsibilities

• Develop time-phased project cost and resource forecasts; validate project costs and update requirements.
• Generate and analyze earned value reports for projects; discuss observations with the project manager.
• Conduct financial analyses including variance, risk and profit/loss analyses; prepare non-routine financial reports.
• Provide guidance and training to junior staff; may supervise junior engineers.
