Job summary

CDM Smith is excited to offer a Senior Project Controls Specialist role to support construction projects across various locations in the U.S. You will develop and maintain complex schedule and cost baselines, collect monthly data, and perform variance analyses to support informed decision making.

As part of the project delivery team, you will ensure compliance with internal procedures, help forecast costs and resources, and provide periodic reports to management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 5 years of related experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

Responsibilities

• Develops time-phased project cost and resource forecasts; validates project costs; updates requirements as required.
• Generates and analyzes earned value reports for moderately complex to highly complex projects and discusses observations with the project manager.
• Performs portfolio analysis and reviews findings with portfolio managers on On Time Delivery, Risk Forecasts, and Project Gross Profit Erosion.
• Uses appropriate document management protocols to manage storage and retrieval of project documentation.
• Provides technical guidance and training to junior staff; may supervise the work of junior engineers on project work.
• Performs other duties as required.
